Welcome Jay Sliger to the SRSI Team!

We are excited to introduce the newest member of the SRSI family, Jay Sliger, who has joined us as a Project Engineer for the mechanical project team. Jay brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we look forward to the valuable contributions he will make to our team. Let’s take a moment to get to know Jay better and understand his journey to SRSI.

Jay’s Background

Originally hailing from Mason, Ohio, Jay’s educational background is rooted in engineering. He attended the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. This strong academic foundation has undoubtedly prepared him for the challenges he will face in his role as a Project Engineer.

Entering the MH Industry

So, how did Jay find his way into the Material Handling (MH) industry, and what drew him to the work he does today? Jay’s journey into the MH industry began at Honeywell Intelligrated, where he became part of a new team responsible for structural design of conveyor supports and platforms. The ever-evolving nature of conveyor systems and their designs presented Jay with a challenging and rewarding experience that piqued his interest in the MH industry.

Unique Perspective

Jay’s niche in his position is quite unique. With a background in structural design and involvement in mechanical design of conveyor systems, he possesses a holistic view of the warehouse environment. This comprehensive understanding allows him to approach projects with a well-rounded perspective.

Goals and Aspirations

In his new role at SRSI, Jay has both short- and long-term goals. In the short term, he is eager to learn the standards and the intricacies of the project lifecycle at SRSI. In the long term, he envisions building on his knowledge of the MH industry and leveraging his past experiences to contribute to the growth and learning of the team.

Outlook on the MH Industry

When asked about his perspective on the MH industry, Jay highlighted the industry’s potential for growth as technology continues to improve and develop. He believes that with the implementation of new technologies, robotics, and innovative approaches to warehouse operations, the possibilities for growth in the MH industry are limitless. This aligns perfectly with SRSI’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry.

Excitement for SRSI

Jay’s excitement about joining SRSI is fueled by the opportunity to work with a small but fast-growing team and company. He’s looking forward to the possibilities for innovation and collaboration that come with it, and we’re equally excited to have him on board.

Life Outside of Work

Outside of work, Jay enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Melissa, and their two children, Jonah and Lucy. They love visiting King’s Island, a local amusement park, and Jay himself is a golf enthusiast, enjoying a round when the opportunity arises.
