Charlotte “Chuck” Summerfelt

The SRSI family is delighted to welcome our newest team member, Charlotte Summerfelt, who joins us as a Software Developer. With her extensive expertise and enthusiasm for software development, we’re eager to see her make a significant impact in our ever-evolving technology landscape.

A Peek into Charlotte’s Journey:

Hailing from the scenic state of Colorado, Charlotte’s adventurous spirit led her to the stunning Gunnison Valley almost eight years ago. She embarked on her software development journey, armed with a degree in Software Engineering from Colorado Technical University, and she’s been on an exciting path ever since.

Discovering the Material Handling Industry:

Charlotte’s introduction to the material handling industry is an intriguing story. She used to work as a PC Technician Specialist at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, right next door to the SRSI office in the Treasury building. Yet, she had no idea what went on inside. That all changed when she stumbled upon an advertisement for a developer position. Her fascination with problem-solving, system enhancement, and a penchant for robots made it sound like the perfect challenge. She was drawn to the dynamic world of material handling.

Charlotte’s Specialization: Problem-Solving Extraordinaire:

In her role as a Software Developer, Charlotte excels at tackling complex challenges head-on. She loves breaking problems down into manageable pieces to create optimized solutions. Research, active listening, and a holistic understanding of both hardware and software are all part of her toolkit.

Charlotte’s Aspirations at SRSI:

Charlotte has ambitious goals for her time at SRSI. In the short term, she is dedicated to gaining an in-depth understanding of the industry, equipping herself to contribute effectively to our solution systems. Her immediate focus is the implementation of RAPIDS 2.0, a project that will serve as a central information repository, benefiting both our clients and internal users.

The Future of Material Handling:

Charlotte’s perspective on the material handling industry’s present and future is a question mark at this stage, but she’s excited to explore the industry’s dynamic landscape and contribute to its growth.

What Sparks Charlotte’s Enthusiasm:

What excites Charlotte most about joining SRSI is the opportunity to work on projects that have the potential to redefine and shape the industry. Her passion for innovation aligns seamlessly with our commitment to driving change in the material handling sector.

Life Beyond the Desk:

Outside of work, Charlotte embraces an active and diverse lifestyle. She’s an outdoor enthusiast, reveling in skiing, hiking, rafting, and backpacking. Her love for reading is complemented by the joy of playing Dungeons and Dragons and board games with friends. She’s also a hands-on enthusiast, revamping her vintage arcade machine and experimenting with game design.

A Favorite Quote:

To encapsulate her outlook on life, Charlotte shares one of her favorite quotes by Albert Camus: “For the absurd man, it is not a matter of explaining and solving, but of experiencing and describing. Everything begins with lucid indifference.”

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Charlotte Summerfelt. We’re excited to embark on this journey with her, and we’re confident that her contributions to our software development endeavors will be nothing short of remarkable!
